Happy New Year and Welcome!

Happy 2023 and welcome to my new blog.

You can skip over this part for those who know me, but here's a little background for those who don't know me.

I live in the Greater Boston area with my two rescue cats, Neely and Nigel. Neely was named after Cam Neely, #8 on the Boston Bruins back in the day, and Nigel was named by a dear friend. We couldn't find a hockey name that fit his personality, so Nigel it was.

I spend my days working in the Radiation Oncology Department in one of Boston's top hospitals and my nights and weekends, reading, writing, knitting, crocheting, and designing crochet patterns. My design work has appeared in many publications, including Happily Hooked MagazineCrochet! Special PublicationsInterweave Crochet, and I like Crochet. My patterns have had over 600,000+ unique downloads.

I had several poems, and short stories published years ago and gave up writing when my then boyfriend told me that I didn't have any talent as a writer. Unfortunately, I believed him. Thanks to some classes and workshops at Grub Street, I've started writing again and sent out my first new short story for possible publication.

I'm also obsessed with the Boston Bruins.

That's it in a nutshell.

I have been updating some of my older patterns. One from 2013 is titled the Ashmont Hat. It's posted below. If you prefer a pdf copy, it's available on Ravelry for $3. I hope you enjoy it. I'll be releasing some of the older patterns for free here only, in the next few months, so make sure you follow me here or on Instagram, so you'll know when patterns are released.
